Holocaust, Diversity, and Peace Collection for Children and Young Adults
We have a collection of beautiful books in the lower level of the library. They were obtained through a new initiative: The Louis and Mae Heller Initiative for Holocaust and Human Rights Education for Young Children. This program allows Temple Bnai Israel’s Hochberg Holocaust and Human Rights Committee to provide grants to area libraries. The project aims to enlighten children and their parents about a subject that is often very difficult for all to comprehend and discuss. The titles were specifically chosen to help all of us “Repair the Past by Building the Future”. It is the Committee’s belief that understanding methods of peace, as well as learning of our past, will help to do just that.
