For Kids

Welcome to Jonathan Trumbull Library’s Children’s Department

We offer a wide range of books, audio books, DVDs, music CDs, puppets, AV Kits, and more for children and teens.

Our regular children’s programs include Read, Rock, & Rhyme on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am and Time for Stories on Mondays at 10:00 am. Please check our calendar of events for upcoming program dates.

Read, Rock, & Rhyme: Read, Rock and Rhyme is fashioned after the Mother Goose on the Loose program that integrates the latest research in early literacy and infant brain development with traditional story time elements. Join us as we share books, rhymes, musical instruments, songs, movement, flannel board tales, puppets, finger plays and more. This program is designed for the birth to 24 month audience mentioned below, but siblings are welcome. Open play is available at the end of the program.

We thought it would be fun to display some of your artwork in our new play space in the Children’s library. It will be on display during our annual Equinox and the Arts exhibit March 23- April 11, 2019. We’d like to continue showcasing artists on a monthly basis. If you are a child or teen and you’re interested, please speak with Mrs. Slate.
