Friends of the Jonathan Trumbull Library

The Friends of the Jonathan Trumbull Library meet at 7 PM at the library on the second Thursday of each month. New members are always welcome. Click on the membership link below and mail in the form or drop it off at the library.

The Friends have accomplished great things over the last 16 years. Among their achievements is the creation of an annual exhibition of local artists' work, Equinox and the Arts. Their annual book sale has raised $32,916. and spent it all in support of the library, beginning with the purchase of the library sign in the photo above. Last year they paid for the repair and re-painting of that sign, among other gifts.

Join the Friends of the Jonathan Trumbull Library. Print off and mail in the membership form. Come to a meeting if you want to meet some people or lend a hand. Next Meeting: Thursday, August 14 at 7 p.m.

Dear Friend:

May is membership Month. All membership renewals are due this month.

Please send the bottom portion of this letter with your dues by May 31, 2008. Thank you for your continued support.

Quick update of this year’s activity:

September 2007 was our most successful used book sale ever. Many thanks to the Book Brigade, all the volunteers, to entrepreneur Carolyn Eck, to assistant Linda Wagner, and especially to Peg McCormick, whose dedication and organizational work have markedly improved the Sale.

Equinox and the Arts XIII was a beautiful contribution to the community. Thank you to Sue Kane and her committee. Artist of the Month continues to bring wonderful art to the Library. Thank you, Judy Vertefeuille.

This year’s gifts to the Library included, Mystic Seaport Pass, increased shelving for new books, a DVD/CD cleaning machine and a contribution for books and DVD’s.

Friends programs included Friends’ Brunch, Books No Business, Still River Writers, Volunteer Luncheon, library magnets, and the book cart.

Meetings

The next Friends meeting is May 8 at 7PM. Second Thursday is our regular meeting night. Everyone is welcome.

Membership

Your membership is very important to us, whatever your level of involvement. Membership dues are an important source of revenue for the Friends’ continuing support of the library.
