Interlibrary Loans
The Jonathan Trumbull Library is pleased to offer
interlibrary loan service. If you would like to borrow materials not owned
by the library, you may call the library (642-7763) to ask
for assistance or you may request them yourself.
The first way to
try to find a book now that we belong to BibliOak is to choose "Everywhere" next
to "Advanced Search" at the bottom of the first screen of our catalog search.
That will let you request the item from Hebron or one of our other partners if
they own it.
By searching the statewide library catalog
(on the iCONN website) you can find the book you want anywhere in Connecticut.
You can also see which libraries own your item of
interest and
visit that library to borrow it in person. You will need your Jonathan Trumbull
Library Card. Please note there is a limit of five (5) active
interlibrary loan requests per family at any one time.
-
TO REQUEST AN INTERLIBRARY
LOAN:
-
Go to iCONN's home page:
www.iconn.org
-
In Internet Explorer you
should see a large green box where it says, "To begin searching, enter your Connecticut library
card." In that space, type in all 14 digits (no spaces between) of the
number below the barcode on the back of your JTL library card. Then click on
"LOGIN". Now the system knows you are from Lebanon and will
ship your requests to our library.
-
The top green box, "Find
Articles," will search all of the iCONN resources (newspapers, journals,
magazines, etc.) which puts an exciting amount of information at your
fingertips. The lower green box is the one to use if you want to
borrow a book we don't own. Click on the "Books" tab.
Enter a search term (title and author work well if you leave the drop-down
on "All Headings." Click on "Search Books."
-
Choose desired item
from the results. The number in parentheses after the item represents
how many libraries own the item. If there are two listings for your
item, choose the one with more libraries. (If you see "My Library" it means
we own the item so don't place an interlibrary loan request, just give us a
phone call or reserve it in our online catalog.)
-
Choose the "Request This
Item" box in top right corner.
-
Fill in the ILL Request
Form. You need only fill in your name, password, and phone number.
The password is for your own use in tracking your requests. Click on
the "Submit" button (top menu bar) to initiate request.
Call the library (642-7763) for assistance with any part of this process
