Interlibrary Loans
The Jonathan Trumbull Library is pleased to offer
interlibrary loan service. If you would like to borrow materials not owned
by the library, you may call or visit the Library (860-642-7763) to ask
for assistance or you may request them yourself online.
The first,
fastest and best way to borrow an item that JTL doesn't own is to request it
from another Bibliomation library by following the instructions below.
If you can't find your item in one of the 60 libraries in BibliOak, you may search the statewide library catalog
(on the iCONN website.) Log in with
your 14 digit library barcode. You can also see which libraries own your item of
interest and
visit to borrow it in person. You will need your Jonathan Trumbull
Library Card. Please note there is a limit of five (5) active
iCONN loan requests per family at any one time.
TO REQUEST AN INTRALIBRARY
LOAN THROUGH BIBLIOMATION:
-
Click on
"Access Your Account" on the Library's homepage. The first time
you log in, you need to use your 14 digit barcode number on the back of your
library card as your user name. Your first password is the last four digits of your home
phone. You can change your password and username under "Account
Preferences." If
you have trouble accessing your account at any time, you can call the
library to ask us to reset your password to your four digit phone number.
-
Enter your user name and
your password.
-
The search box is at the top
of the screen. Enter your search term, title and/or author. Note
that the box on the top right of the screen reads "My Library".
-
Click on Go.
-
If you don't find the item, search again.
This time use the drop down to change "My
Library" to "All Libraries in Our Network".
-
When you find the item you
want, click on the title. On the next screen, click on "Request Item".
On the next screen, click "Request Item" again.
-
We'll call you when the book
comes in, usually in a week to 10 days.
-
Note that if the book is
very new, you may get a message that your hold cannot be placed at this
time. Libraries usually reserve their newest materials for their own
taxpayers. Wait a few months and try again. (Or suggest the
purchase at JTL.)
TO REQUEST AN INTERLIBRARY
LOAN THROUGH iCONN:
-
Go to iCONN's home page:
www.iconn.org
-
In Internet Explorer you
should see a large green box where it says, "To begin searching, enter your Connecticut library
card." In that space, type in all 14 digits (no spaces between) of the
number below the barcode on the back of your JTL library card. Then click on
"LOGIN". Now the system knows you are from Lebanon and will
ship your requests to our library.
-
The top green box, "Find
Articles," will search all of the iCONN resources (newspapers, journals,
magazines, etc.) which puts an exciting amount of information at your
fingertips. The lower green box is the one to use if you want to
borrow a book we don't own. Click on the "Books" tab.
-
Choose desired item
from the results. The number in parentheses after the item represents
how many libraries own the item. If there are two listings for your
item, choose the one with more libraries. (If you see "My Library" it means
we own the item so don't place an interlibrary loan request, just give us a
phone call or reserve it in our online catalog.)
-
Choose the "Request This
Item" box in top right corner.
-
Fill in the ILL Request
Form. You need only fill in your name, password, and phone number.
The password is for your own use in tracking your requests. Click on
the "Submit" button (top menu bar) to initiate request.
Call the library (642-7763) for assistance with any part of this process
