  • Dungeons and Dragons: NEW Campaign!

    Tue. September 7, 2021  6:00 PM - 8:00 PM

New campaign beginning with Dungeon Master Cailean! Under the Shadow of Monolith: A Voyage
Ages 10+, beginners welcome. More details coming soon as to whether this will be an online program using Roll20 or in person at the library. For now, here is the letter you receive, should you choose to join the party:

    Dear Adventurer,

You have been officially chosen by the Council of Sciences and Academics for a journey to search for the ancient legend of the Council of the Seven Sorcerers. This is a great honor, and to complete this great quest will mean fortune, favor, and honor to you and the other members of your party. Please greatly consider this letter, as the fate of the entire planet of Aerth depends on your contributions to this voyage- a voyage that will be spent entirely under the shadow of the dark planet Monolith that orbits our world.

You must meet with the other candidates of your party at the edge of the Forest Unknowing in the small town of Cheshire and then travel along the edge of the forest, following the North star of Polaris until you reach the Angharad wall. In Angharad you must find a way to meet with the Princess in order to begin your journey and retrieve information about the Council, and where you might be able to search for clues.

But be wary- not everyone in this world is here to help you. There are dark evils that reside on this broken planet, and only you can save it. I wish you well, adventurer, and may you transverse the world under the Goddess’s protection.

    Sincerely,

The Council of Sciences and Academics

A note from your Dungeon Master:

My name is Cailean Brown, and I’ll be your Dungeon Master for this evening.

Dungeons and Dragons is something that lets me explore a plethora of different ideas. I’ve been playing D&D for about three years, with my first big campaign lasting two. There I played a Lone Ranger, the prince of a fallen kingdom disguised as a cowboy. I’m working to get into a film career, and D&D allows me to play around with world building, character development, and writing in general. Science Fiction is another one of my interests, so you can be sure it will pop up in this story. I love tying in the classic fantasy aspects of the game with futuristic and strange technologies. My other themes of interest are mystery, thriller, drama, and experimental.
