Fabric Donations for JTL Quilt
Thu. June 22, 2023 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM
Story RoomJonathan Trumbull Library Community Quilt
Do you have old clothes or fabric that isn't being worn/used? Have you seen the bags and quilts in the Children's area of the library?
Lady Wendy aka the bag-and-quilt maker is making a community quilt to hang in the Children's area of JTL.
It's entitled "All Are Welcome On The Green." It will consist of a series of log cabin blocks. The center of each of those will be a green square representing the Lebanon Green.
It's the "all" part where your fabric comes in. While Lady Wendy could make the blocks from her stash, she felt it wouldn't be a true community quilt with pieces of fabric from JTL patrons. The warmth of old clothes, of fabric scraps stashed somewhere will bring the heart of "All Are Welcome On The Green" to life.
Fabric donations will be accepted in the story room on Thursday, 22 June from 5-7 pm and Saturday, 8 July from 10a-12p.
Fabric must be 100% cotton (no knits). Ideal fabric would be button down shirts, skirts, dresses, quilt fabric scraps or stash pieces, etc.
Please note that fabric not used in the quilt may wind up in a bag or another quilt.
Thank you for your help with this project.

Fabric Donations for JTL Quilt
Sat. July 8, 2023 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Hi everyone!
My name is Nicole. I have been working with Schiller’s for a little over a year but have been sewing and embroidering for about 3 – 4 years with my mom who also works at Schiller’s! I am currently working on drawing, digitizing, and embroidering custom logos for clothing. I have always loved crafts since I was a little girl coloring, to a ton of advanced and professional art classes in high school, and finally creating clothing and sewing projects. I have knowledge of sewing machines, sergers, embroidery machines, cutting machines, embroidery software, and much more regarding crafts and hobbies so feel welcome

DND Camp
Tue. July 25, 2023 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Community RoomLearn to play Dungeons and Dragons, the world’s greatest roleplaying game! This camp is perfect for adventurers ages 10-14 who are new to or looking to get into D&D. We’ll explore world building and role playing, from creating the backstory and traits of a character or setting to playing your character in-game and seeing the adventure through their eyes.
Week one, July 17-21, is geared towards character creation and the core elements of D&D for newer players. In week two, July 24-28, you’ll use your character to apply and expand your roleplaying skills and knowledge of the game rules. The end of week two will see those skills put together in an epic adventure to discover the ancient mystery of a local port town.
Registration required for either or both weeks. We have room for up to 10 adventurers.
