Welcome to Jonathan Trumbull Library’s Youth Services Department
We offer a wide range of books, audio books, DVDs, music CDs, puppets, AV Kits, and more for children and their families.
Our regular children’s programs include Read, Rock, & Rhyme on Wednesday mornings at 10:30 am and Time for Stories on Mondays at 10:00 am. Please check our calendar of events for upcoming program dates.
Read, Rock, & Rhyme: Read, Rock and Rhyme is fashioned after the Mother Goose on the Loose program that integrates the latest research in early literacy and infant brain development with traditional story time elements. Join us as we share books, rhymes, musical instruments, songs, movement, flannel board tales, puppets, finger plays and more. This program is designed for the birth to 24 month audience mentioned below, but siblings are welcome. Open play is available at the end of the program.

Wednesdays at 10:30 am
Time for Stories: Time for Stories is an early literacy program filled with age-appropriate activities. Please join us for stories, rhymes, flannel boards, finger plays, music and more. This program is designed for a preschool audience, but siblings are welcome. Open play is available at the end of the program.
Twos & Threes
Mondays at 10:00 am
Tuesdays at the Library: Every Tuesday afternoon we have a program for elementary school aged children (5-9 years old.) The programs are on a rotating schedule: Book club, Writing, and Mindfulness.
Tuesdays at 4:15 pm
Craft Time: Every Wednesday at 3:30 pm we have a craft for kids of all ages in the youth services library.
Drop in between 3:30 and 4:00 pm on Wednesdays.
Tween Thursdays: Every Thursday afternoon we have a program for tweens (ages 9-13.) The programs are on a rotating schedule: Book club, Writing, and Mindfulness.
