From the Fool to the World: A Writing Journey through the Major Arcana

Join us on the third Thursday this month as we use the 22 archetypes of the Major Arcana as prompts for our creative expression!

The Major Arcana traces the path of the Fool's journey as they encounter different aspects of Self along the way. Using a variety of visuals from different decks and bespoke writing prompts, we'll craft a container to encourage each other's creative work (sharing always optional!) and hold the journey together.

This will be a hybrid in-person/Zoom program. Call the library if you’d like the Zoom link, and we will send that out prior to meeting. Please feel free to bring any tarot decks you feel inspired by, as well as any writing or art supplies you'd like to have on hand during the program.

The Greatest Sitcoms of All Time: A Funny Program About Funny Programs

Award-winning author and pop culture historian Martin Gitlin hosts this fun and enlightening presentation based on his book, The Greatest Sitcoms of All Time.

He is the only author to actually rank the best of the best, including I Love Lucy, The Honeymooners, The Andy Griffith Show, Get Smart, All in the Family, The Mary Tyler Moore Show, Cheers, The Golden Girls, Seinfeld, Frasier and The Big Bang Theory.

He will show funny snippets from those shows and others, challenge patrons with sitcom trivia (including identifying cool theme songs!), discuss the criteria he used to rank 70 years of sitcoms and talk about how they have evolved over the decades in humor, presentation and content.

This program is really entertaining so join in on the fun!
